Post 7: The (imaginary) battle of sociology v/s pedagogy.
It's funny because in post 5 I've talked about the possible changes in my studies. I think that, if I would change my study program, I'll be moving to study pedagogy. The experience of being a teacher and share the knowledge with the students, and permanently learning about them. The curriculum should be changed a lot, I've never seen the pedagogy curriculum but I think that will have a little in common with sociology. The career of pedagogy can be studied in the same campus that sociology, in JGM, specifically the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities, and it has a big and new building that seems like a Mall haha. Also, I think that the fact of study pedagogy in lockdown, besides the fact of doing classes by the computer, could be a little difficult for me. But I have to say that the educational system in Chile is deplorable, the deal between the teachers and the schools, and between them and the Ministry or the municipality, is very inefficient. That fact makes me decline the idea of being a teacher, but maybe in the future, that decision could change. At the moment, I'm very happy with sociology and the (possible) future that could bring me, in addition to the joy that gives me doing research and discovering new things about people. I wish I could link those areas, and Sociology of Education seems like a very good option, until now.
